Dr Tsafnat is the Founder and CSO at Evidentli Pty Ltd and a member of the Australian Alliance for Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare (AAAiH). He is an Adjunct Fellow at the Australian Institute of Health Innovation, Macquarie University where he was previously a Computer Scientist and Senior Research Fellow leading the Computational Evidence Program at the Centre for Health Informatics. He is at the forefront of international efforts to automate evidence synthesis processes. His editorial on the automation of systematic reviews appeared in the BMJ in 2013, has led to the formation of an International Collaboration for Automation of Systematic Reviews (ICASR) which he co-leads and that has over 50 members from 20 countries. ICASR promotes the field through development of interoperability standards and application programming interfaces, by recommending editorial and quality standards and by organising collaborations of volunteers from multiple disciplines spanning technical, clinical and environmental sciences and public health. In the last 5 years Dr. Tsafnat has obtained $1.3 million as first or only CI from international and federal grants. He is also the CEO and Co-founder of Spokade Pty Ltd. An Australian start-up company specialising in genomic analysis software. He works with CIs Glasziou and Coiera on the text analytics program in the CRE, and provides the CRE with access to text analytics technologies for its implementation studies.
