Associate Professor Nigam Shah

Dr Shah is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Stanford University, at the Center for Biomedical Informatics Research. His research uses machine learning, text-mining, and prior knowledge in medical ontologies to enable the learning health system.  Dr Shah holds an MBBS from Baroda Medical College, India, a PhD from Penn State University and postdoctoral training at Stanford University. He received the AMIA New Investigator Award in 2013, was elected into the American College of Medical Informatics (ACMI) in 2015, and was inducted into the American Society for Clinical Investigation (ASCI) in 2016. Associate Professor Shah has established a productive collaborative relationship with CIs Gallego-Luxan and Coiera, resulting in a number of joint publications. They collaborate on the Green Button project.
