Macquarie University is seeking an experienced senior researcher to establish a new AI in healthcare research stream.

 

You’ll be part of the Centre for Health Informatics (CHI), at the Australian Institute of Health Innovation, which leads the Centre of Research Excellence in Digital Health (CRE). You’ll collaborate with a highly experienced team of researchers in the CRE under the leadership of Professor Enrico Coiera, CRE and CHI Director who are focussing on research into safety and quality, advanced clinical analytics and consumer digital health.

Who you are

You’ll bring your expertise into a multidisciplinary team and help guide the team to develop real-world systems. We are looking both for proven academic rigour and outputs, ability to secure research funding, as well as pragmatic skills and problem solving. Ideally, you will have the desire to research and develop AI applications for healthcare, with experience in using modern methods to develop and evaluate AI systems for real-world applications.

You will also be an excellent communicator with high quality interpersonal skills, strong ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, and lead a team of early-career researchers and higher-degree research students.

CHI explores the application of digital technologies in healthcare with strong expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its implications for transforming models of care, driving system-wide change and delivering personalised healthcare.

CHI collaborates with leading Australian and international companies and research organisations and is the longest-running digital health research centre in Australia.
